


LOEWE one of the world’s major luxury houses, founded in 1846 in Spain, and today under the creative direction of Jonathan Anderson launches its second collaboration with Studio Ghibli this week.

The Hayao Miyazaki movie Spirited Away was released in 2001 by Studio Ghibli to universal acclaim and became the highest-grossing film in Japanese history. It was the first hand-drawn and non-English movie to win the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature. The dreamlike film tellsthestory of 10-year-old Chihiro Ogino who travels into the wonderful and terrifying world of Japanese spirits in a bid to save her parents from a curse inflicted by a witch named Yubaba.


On 6th January 2022 Loewe launch a capsule collection,
Loewe x Spirited Away following Creative Director Jonathan Anderson earlier collection based on Studio Ghibli’s 1988 film, My Friend Totoro, last January.
The most memorable characters from Spirited Away including the young Chihiro, Haku, the sorceress Yubaba and no face spirit Kaonashi feature in the eclectic collection of ready-to-wear apparel, blankets, scarves and bags. Loewe’s us renowned for first-rate craftsmanship and beautifully depicts Studio Ghibli figures through jacquard, print, appliquè, leather marquetry, or embroidery.
