It has been a while since we have seen such a demand for classical blooming big florals, in fact 25 years. Yet fashion is always based on contrasts and contradictions so we should have seen this coming. During lock down simplicity in print design has ruled with non print prints, mark making and simple small florals. Now we want to break free and show off with big bold displays of femininity.
There was a time in the mid 1990s when we recoloured every floral curtain print we had to feed the insatiable demand for the booming “New Look” store for big florals. These were for button through loose dresses to over printed fitted jacquard jackets. How will you wear your blooming big florals in 2020s?
