This year I went with my family and some friends for New Year to this delightful place. We ate pasties and mackerel, walked along the six beaches, visited museums and then joined the NYE celebrations. A truly good-natured event that kicks off as soon as it gets dark. From small children to the more elderly, thousands dress up and wander around the charming winding alleys and along the harbor front. There are no cars but hoards of people enjoying each other spectacular efforts. The pasty shops and bars are open as is the glorious beach around the habour. Time flies by and soon the midnight hour arrives and a glorious firework display lights up the heavens and is reflected in the water. This is one of the most inclusive events that I have ever attended and would recommend to everyone.
