Since 2000, Pantone, leading colour experts, have been predicting what colour we will be significant across fashion, interiors, architecture, food, travel, for 2017.

Let me introduce you to the Pantone Colour of the Year 2017: Greenery

Driven by recent health trends and the idea of reinventing ourselves, the bright yellow-green colour will grace catwalks, interiors and be a prominent trend within print going forward into 2017. The bright, bold colour evokes feelings of happiness and the idea of reconnecting with nature.

Following the 2016 Colours of the year, Rose Quartz and Serenity, Greenery is reinvigorating colour palettes and making a bolder statement. Pantone have also created a selection of colour palletes for greenery all with wonderful, earthly names such as ‘Deep Rooted’ and ‘Ethereal Material’ further provoking that feeling of returning to nature.

Here is a look at a few ways this colour is being used already across fashion, interiors and lifestyle:

Karen Hua wrote for Forbes that “the yellow pigment in Greenery references the sun, the symbolic light that people need in these times”. Realising that colours within design can have this subsequent effect on us all is so exciting and we can’t wait to see more of this vibrant colour in prints.

Here are some examples of this great colour working in some of the latest Sublitex prints:
